Hello Everybody
This week was pretty fun and full of the spirit. We had a zone conference this Friday which made me think allot about my goals and what I want to take from this mission. They talked allot about the difference between the law of sacrifice and the law of concercration. I don't know if I spelled that right but whatever. It reminded me of the talk by elder Holland about not checking your religion at the door. I don't really remember what it was called but he basicly said that the covanents we make to God in the church shouldn't be forgoten or we shouldn't act differently because of where we are or the people we are around. We should always act and be disciples of christ and strive to follow his example in everything that we do.
The law of concercration is difficult and almost seems like asking to much. But that is the reason we are all here on the earth. If we fail, we just keep moving forward and try again and try to be better. If you need an example of a someone to follow just look to christ. Everything he did was selfless. There was not a single thing he did that was for himself.
We had a sad week with dhameliz. She had plans to get married today and then baptized tomorrow but it fell through. It's not because she doesn't wanna do it it's because she's such an amazing person. She doesnt want her husband to feel like she's pressuring him into getting married so she wants to wait tell he's ready for it. She still comes to church tho and talks to us every day through text or phone calls. It's all in the lords timing.
My comps are pretty amazing guys. There both great examples of the kind of missionary I hope to be one day. Axtel is short hehe. He hates when I say that. I say it in Spanish of course.
Me and elder baker laugh at the same stupid things. It's so fun. Like today we were talking to a lady at her door and I asked Como se llama? And she apparently was a little deaf and told us her kids were doing fine? I look at baker and I could see In his eyes that he thought it was just as funny as i thought it was so we both start dying and trying to hold in our laughter. So I kept trying to tell axtel to talk because me and baker couldn't open our mouth without laughing.
The spirit is present with laughter. Sometimes. If your not laughing at someone.
